From Underground King to king of burgers: Bun B, one half of legendary rap duo UGK from Texas, just won the title for the best burger in the United States with his ‘Trill Burger’ – crowned by none other than your our a lot of people’s favorite morning show Good Morning America. Let’s put it this way: The morning talk show is definitely not the first place to highlight the rapper’s culinary excursion.
What’s even more surprising, is that Bun B ventured into the restaurant business with ‘Trill Burgers’ just one year ago in 2021. What started as a pop-up hamburger shop in his hometown Houston eventually led to serving carnivore and vegan burgers at nationwide festivals like Coachella, Rock The Bells or Rolling Loud. And to GMA’s ‘United Burgers of America’ competition on Times Square, of course.
Just judging from the mouth-watering pictures and from reading Trill Burger’s winning formula – that is 44 Farms beef, Trill Sauce, caramelized onions, pickles and a Martin’s potato bun – we can definitely see why the rap veteran’s burger is celebrated. What totally won us over is the opinion of our favorite food critic ever though: Questlove from The Roots, who’s known for his brutally honest opinions. Quote: “Yes, Bun B. Yes. Yes.” Nuff said.
