It’s not the same without the flame: After highly popular collabs with Disney and atmos, Sean Wotherspoon is back with the third colorway of the adidas Superturf Adventure – this time partnering with Hot Wheels for a colorful twist in celebration of the iconic toy cars. In fact, just like the cars, the shoe will get even more colorful when the weather is right. But we’ll get to that in a second.
Sitting on a comfortable adiPRENE+ and Traxion profile sole, the SW adidas Superturf Adventure comes with a white mesh base, a white overlay and hidden adidas stripes in light turquoise, purple and pink. And as if the blue sockliner, the yellow mudguards and the matching eyestays don’t give enough 90s playroom vibes already, the shoes come with a gimmick that only Sean Wotherspoon could come up with. Just like Hot Wheels’ color shifting cars, the Superturf Adventure’s white overlay reveals a hidden distinctive pattern when exposed to rain or sun:
The easter eggs don’t stop with the chameleon-ish colors though: Removable Hot Wheels velcro patches on the heel give the possibility to add even more accents, while the tongue features a zip-up with Hot Wheels‘ slogan “It’s not the same without the flame” hidden underneath. Matching Sean Wotherspoon’s sustainable approach, the upper of the Superturf Adventure is made with recycled materials – and so are parts of the accompanying apparel line, including a mesh jersey and a jacket for additional racing vibes.
