Unfolding JFG’s musical influences on the New Balance 1000, an archive silhouette from the year 1999, the accompanying visuals and the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 1000 ‘Black Ice’ itself breathe the spirit of the millenium thoroughly: Starting with the tongues, whose subtle flame graphics pay homage to late 90s superstars Hot Boys, the pair brings further Y2K vibes via its iridescent leather upper, paired with a black knit mesh upper. Rounding out the shoe are co-branded embroidery and a distinctive ABZORB midsole and cushioning for additional retro-futuristic aesthetics.
