MAMBA WEEK

Mamba Week

Among the many unusual things inherent in the basketball summer of 2020, the absence of Kobe Bryant is still the toughest to wrap our collective mind around. As many basketball fans around the globe deal with a heavy heart, Mitchell & Ness has released a special commemorative Kobe collection of their finest Hardwood Classics jerseys and shorts. The set features different jerseys worn during various points of the Mamba’s illustrious career in purple and gold from his rookie season in 1996-97 all the way thru the championship seasons in 2009 and 2010.

While Kobe’s induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame has been pushed back several months due to Covid19 precautions, many Lakers faithful are still paying tribute to their hero. Look no further than Snoop Dogg’s contribution during this year’s ESPY Awards to gain a perspective on what the Mamba has meant not only to the franchise but also to the greater Los Angeles area.

As part of an extended lineup of items revering Kobe’s legacy that’s available at BSTN, Spanish graphic designer and sneaker afficionado extraordinaire MisZapas has created a limited-edition book depicting each and every sneaker worn during Kobe’s exceptional career. The illustrations chronicle Bryant’s footwear journey from team and signature adidas shoes to his extended Nike line in painstaking detail.

Newly released Kobe Bryant Lakers jerseys — available with either #8 or #24 — as well as the matching shorts are now available at BSTN!

What more can we say? MAMBA FOREVER!
