In celebration of this year’s Air Max Day, BSTN has hosted a series of workshops for the local community that serve as a breath of fresh air in the hyperfocused rush of everyday life. Bringing the extended BSTN family together for a moment of deceleration and the appreciation of traditional craftsmanship provided participants with a change of pace.
The second of two workshops BSTN has teamed up with Stefan Blum, owner of and miller at Hofbräuhaus Kunstmühle, inviting members of the community to the local mill for a class on craftsmanship, tradition, and sustainability.
A family business, spanning four generations, the Hofbräuhaus Kunstmühle is the only remaining mill within the city limits of Munich and still practices the same craft, relying on the same locally sourced premium ingredients, as they did more than a century ago.
A purposeful moment of deceleration, the workshop not only provided the participants with an in-depth look at the traditions of this local master craftsman but allowed them to utilize the machines – some of which are older than 100 years – themselves for a hands-on learning experience, providing them with a valuable addition to their portfolio of skills and a freshly baked loaf to take home.
