Built on many years of friendship and mutual respect, local Munich powerhouses BEASTIN and Gym Yilmaz are joining forces to deliver a capsule collection that packs a punch. The longtime relationship between the brands’ founders is enunciated in an apparel line that includes tees, sweats and – of course – a towel terry robe.
While the local ties and unquestionable boxing authenticity of Gym Yilmaz are the perfect fit for BEASTIN’s ever-present sports DNA, the similarities between the two are far from over. While both brands started out as pure passion projects in infamously unspectacular locales, their founders made a point of sticking to their guns, keeping their inner circle tight, and blazing their own trail.
For example, Gym Yilmaz’ relationship – and subsequent inception of the eponymous clothing brand – with renowned graphic design studio Bureau Borsche is the direct result of founder Mirko Borsche training at Tim Yilmaz’ gym for years.
BEASTIN’s and Gym Yilmaz’ mutual admiration for the sport of boxing as well as its history has not only lead to the creation of a joint graphic that combines the BEASTIN script with the Gym Yilmaz logo. It is also expressed through the iconic “Property Of” graphic, a staple item of basketball culture that boasts equal notoriety in the world of boxing, first and foremost thanks to Mike Tyson.
Staying with their trusted formula of running a small circle and being unapologetically pedantic when it comes to authenticity, the BEASTIN x Gym Yilmaz collection was shot locally, starring current Gym Yilmaz team members from the amateur as well as the professional ranks and long-time partners in crime inside and outside of the ring Alex, Shafi, Jerry, and Elvin.
The limited-edition BEASTIN x Gym Yilmaz apparel collection releases on Friday, April 16th, at noon CEST, exclusively at BSTN.
