NB X JOE FRESHGOODS ‘1998’ PACK

Following a sought-after first collaboration, New Balance and Joe Freshgoods have reunited for a new take on the 990v4 silhouette. Inspired by the visual aesthetics of ‘Belly’, the 1998 American crime drama by music video director Hype Williams, the yin-and-yang tones of the collection depart heavily from Freshgood’s usual vivid hues:

Apparent from their names, the 990v4 models dubbed ‘Intro’ and ‘Outro’ nod to the color spectrum of iconic scenes from the movie that featured Nas and the late DMX, among others. Adopting two medleys of black, white and grey, both pairs employ a blend of mesh, suede and patent leather fabrics. While Joe Freshgoods’ initials appear on the lateral heel and replace the typical ‘990’ hit, the heel features ‘Made in the USA’ and ‘1998’ lettering, whereas the latter is another homage to ‘Belly’.

The ‘Intro’ and the ‘Outro’ colorway of the New Balance x Joe Freshgoods MADE in USA 990v4 release at BSTN on Friday, December 29th. For your chance to purchase a pair, make sure to enter the BSTN Raffle before Thursday, December, 29th, at 3 pm CET via the button below!
