The Nike Dunk Low Retro “UCLA” references the University of California – duh – and wraps the pair in the colors of the university’s very own basketball team, the UCLA Bruins. The full leather upper is clad in yellow and blue, with the outsole matching the latter, rounded off by a classic white midsole. Sweet memories of the blue ocean and Cali’s golden sunset? Check.
And even though the Nike Dunk Low “Gym Red” keeps its inspirational sources more vague, not only fans of hoops power houses like St. Johns, UNLV or Ohio State will enjoy its colorway: A white leather base is contrasted with overlays, Swooshes, branded heel tabs and an inner lining all in powerful red. Subtle hits of Yellow on the tongue, heels and on the insoles do the rest.
