While the NBA All Star Game will look and feel a little bit different this year, Nike is still honoring the biggest festivities in the league with a special pack of limited-edition releases (even though it’s technically played in a different city). The collection includes special make-ups of some of the most popular Swoosh silhouettes of all time in the Air Force 1 and the Dunk High.
The AF1 pairs glossy black and slightly-patterned overlays on the upper with tumbled leather on the toe box, mid-foot, along the tongue and on the spine. Branding on the tongue and a label on the heel, as well as the NBA-insginia on the lateral heel add sublte silver details and tie this shoe to the event. The construction sits atop a React-cushioned semi-translucent, “Barely Green” outsole.
The All Star edition of the Nike Dunk High features a two-tone upper that’s reminiscent of one of the silhouette’s original colorways. The shiny black elements of the shoe create a distinct contrast with the more subtle mint-colored details. The NBA All Star Game branding on the heel makes this sneaker a unique collector’s piece given that the location of the game was moved spontaneously this season.
