“One glare and wink, everyone wearing pink.”
Cam’ron – ‘Take Em To Church’ (2004)
It’s not as if the color pink was ever not around in the last 100 years (and longer), but the color’s current omnipresence most likely marks its biggest rise in popularity ever since Cam’ron pinked out New York Fashion Week in 2003 in a pink coat and a matching flip phone. This time around though, the color experiences a momentum due to another pop culture icon equally synonymous with pink: We’re talking Barbie, of course.
Thanks to the highly succesful ‘Barbie’ movie (and an equally star-studded soundtrack), pink is everywhere again in the form of Barbiecore and beyond – and we’re all here for it, given pink’s unique ability to express extravagance, luxury, vibrancy, boldness and more all at once. And to celebrate it accordingly, here’s a little outfit inspiration for your very own pink moment:
If you embrace the pink look, but don’t want to go full Barbiecore yet, just mix softer hues of pink – as seen on the top and pants here – and spice up the ensemble with one or two highlights, which would be the pink bag and the super-comfy slides in this look.

This one would definitely make Barbie and Ken proud: Take a variety of darker shades of pink, include different materials for additional depth and mix them all up, but – and that’s the important part – maybe rather opt for shorts than pants to leave some neutral space in between.
